Rosie Maccurrach | Interpreting the Landscape - A Personal Response | Friday 4th October & Saturday 5th October
A 2 day course
9:30am - 4pm
10 places
Rosie has designed this shorter two day course to focus on a single piece of work by looking at what moves us about a landscape and learning how to translate that on to paper using mark making, pattern, tone and composition.
This two day course will give you the time to explore one view or place from multiple perspectives. We will be looking at how you choose your composition, how you allow a drawing to change shape or focus, how to explore atmosphere and the connection with place and finally how to tackle the challenge of finishing or resolving your drawing.
This is a subject rather than technique focussed course. Ideal for those with some previous drawing experience and those comfortable with independent working with an emphasis on group learning and discussion.
You will need to bring:
A2 pad of mid weight cartridge paper
Pencils (softer ones are best) 2B-8B,
Folding camp chair for working outside
4 Jam jars with lids for water and ink or any water-tight small pots
All other Art materials and refreshments will be provided by We Are Wild.
Closest Train stations Darlington, Northallerton, Yarm. Taxi or pick ups can be arranged.
Accommodation available inc.
B&B in Eryholme Manor (10 min walk from Workshop)
www.neashamestate.co.uk (10 min walk from workshop)
Other options please just ask.
